Gallerie du Dartanbeck

Okay, I don't actually speak Francois... just being a goofball!

I haven't used Poser in quite some time, but am getting inspired to try it again seeing all of the advancements that it's seen over the years!

As of 2010, I've switched to using Carrara, slowly letting go of Poser as I got to know the interface and how it all works. I still held on to the Walk Designer for years though.

With the urge to create Art-in-Motion, I've spent much of the past ten years learning ways to optimize shaders vs lights vs render settings to get animation frames rendered quickly while (hopefully) still looking decent. In doing so, I really got caught up working on my main hero - a girl named Rosie - inspired by my lovely wife!

This is a fairly recent version of her in Genesis 1 form, with many Genesis 2 additions via Genesis Generation X2

I have quite a write-up/video series about her on my new website: Dartanbeck.com, where I ramble on with many pages regarding the idea of making fully CG films using various types of software.

Here's a short animation video featuring my new song, "Dartanbeck.com" (kinda obviously written for my website! LOL)

On my website, my Gallery contains quite a bit of stuff.

While I do have a "Still Images" page, the Gallery landing page has more of my stills in a carousel that can either be watched as is or perused via the side arrows.

Still Images are not really my forte, so most of the stills you see by me are tests of some sort or another in my animation endeavors - testing lights, shaders, a single frame while testing movement timings, etc,   Still, I think that some of them turn out pretty good. I also have an Iray test in there - more will follow.

Videos has a couple of my new ones on top, and will feature more as time goes on, but currently goes through a bit of a history of my trials as I pushed ever onward in this whole quest to create Moving Art.

Within the Videos category I have a subpage: Artemis Knight, which holds the video linked to at the bottom of the first post in this thread along with an article on the Making Of the short.

But then I decided to add something more - an Inspirations section within the Gallery.

Some of the inspiration links within this section are YouTube playlists that I've compiled from videos across the web that relate to a specific topic, like inspirations of famous artists or Visual Effects programs and cinematic game trailers.

The rest of the links lead to their own specific subpages which have videos within them to watch and be inspired by. Currently:

STAR WARS

The Witcher

Alita Battle Angel

Homage Corner

Industrial Light & Magic

Weta Digital

Blur Studio

William Forsche

Finally, the Gallery concludes with the Downloads section, which includes my previous Carrara products that were previously sold at Daz 3D as well as new helper scenes that go along with my tutorial video/article hybrids, which was an experiment and the reason I launched the site - even though it has expanded vastly beyond just that ;)

If you have a look around, I hope you enjoy the journey. Listed here is only the minimal area called the Gallery, which is not really the highlight of the site currently.

Cheers and well met!

Of course, the Warthog Mech image above is concept art for an animation as well!
